Underwriting · Funder registry
Canonical funder and bank registries.
Pathway maintains two registries. The funder registry holds 693 alternative funders and the ACH descriptions each one appears under, and every correction your team makes applies to the next parse. The financial institution registry lists 8,629 US banks, credit unions, and fintechs, and it is open source.

The funder registry
Each funder entry carries a name, type, contact details, states served, and the transaction descriptions it appears under. The registry is placed in the loan model’s prompt on every parse, and the model returns a funder ID, not free text, so each position links to a full funder record.
Your organization starts from Pathway’s default list and owns its copy. Add funders, edit descriptions, or remove funders you never see.
Corrections carry forward
When an underwriter reassigns a position or adds a description, the registry keeps it, and every later parse uses it. Tag rules work at the phrase level: a phrase matched by contains, exact, or regex can set a tag and attribute the transaction to a specific funder.
The financial institution registry
Statements print bank names in many forms: “JPMORGAN CHASE BANK NA”, “Chase”, “JPM”. The registry maps each form to one stable key per institution, with its FDIC certificate, NCUA charter, and Federal Reserve RSSD ID. It covers 4,259 banks and 4,336 credit unions from the FDIC and NCUA, plus 34 fintechs with their partner banks.
